Afternoon Tea

Another little painting for fun, something more colourful and stylized this time. I was browsing Pixiv the other day and was really inspired by the background artists there. Particularly those bright, lighthearted, fantasy-ish scenes, you know like those big epic backgrounds with a couple of characters in the foreground just chilling or doing some random stuff. Something about their sense of scale, perspective, colours and mood (and a whole bunch of other aspects, definitely!) really captures the moment they were illustrating really well and is something I hope I can achieve myself someday.

Spent quite some time on this image.  Started off pretty quick but for some reason whenever I reach the "detailing" phase I just start to zone out and get bored really fast. Had to keep stopping and coming back (plus, those plants just took... forever). I think I could probably push this image further and there are probably a ton of mistakes I should've adjusted, but at this point I think I'm just gonna call it done (and move on to something new to draw!).
